Spring/ Nature was the theme for the last week in March at Shawnee Home Preschool. We celebrated the first week of Spring by creating a giant tree for our preschool room. We decorated with things in nature that we can find in the Spring. We then learned about family trees and so added some family pictures to our new Spring tree.

Springtime arts and crafts.

We had a lot of fun playing during center time.

Our letter of the week was X and the color yellow for Spring. The kids were super excited to say Spring when I asked what season it was. We practiced letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. Next, we danced Spring dances, read Spring books, and played a variety of drama games.

Outside we tried to find signs of Spring, but we mostly found a lot of puddles and mud. However, just as we were giving up we discovered a worm which the children found very exciting. We moved it from the driveway to a protected dirt area where we felt it would be much happier.

Perhaps outside we are still waiting for more signs of spring, but inside we got a wonderful surprise as little tomatoes finally popped out of our tomato plant!

Thanks for reading Spring/Nature! Our next theme will be Easter!
